5G service will be available in November Samsung phones, new budget is coming

5G services were launched in India at the beginning of this month. Airtel, one of the country's largest telecom companies, has already launched the service in eight Indian cities, while rival Reliance Jio has also rolled out its latest generation cellular network services in four cities.

Even before the launch of 5G, many smartphone manufacturers have launched 5G-enabled devices in the market. However, not all devices support 5G network 'out-of-the-box' and will require a software update of the devices. Today, US-based technology company Apple has confirmed that it will enable 5G network on compatible iPhone models by December this year. And now, its rival South Korean brand Samsung has officially revealed the timeline for the rollout of 5G in its devices. Let's take a closer look at this rollout.

Samsung's 5G rollout timeline for 5G-ready smartphones has been revealed

Samsung is set to release a firmware update to enable 5G connectivity on its Galaxy smartphones in mid-November. With this update, users will be able to get faster 5G services on their compatible smartphones. Some Samsung phones are already 5G-ready, meaning they won't need a software update to access the cellular network. The list includes the Galaxy S22 series, Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4, S21 FE, M33, A33 5G and A53 5G. The rest of the phones with 5G connectivity will require an update from Samsung to enable the network on the device.

Commenting on the relevant 5G rollout timeline, Samsung's spokesperson said that their company has played a leading role in the development of 5G technology since 2009 and has also taken a leading role in the standardization of 5G technology worldwide. Currently, Samsung has a wide range of 5G devices available in the Indian market. He also informed that the company is working closely with its operator partners and is committed to roll out over-the-air (OTA) updates across all its 5G devices by mid-November 2022, which will enable Indian consumers to experience seamless 5G.
